Our next photography experiences will be the Big Cat Photography workshop at Colchester Zoo on 15 June 2018 and
the Big and Small Wild Cat photo day at the Cat Survival Trust on 14 July 2018.

Only 1 space is still available on the BCP workshop in June but plenty of spaces are still available for the photo day in July.

Big Cat Photograpy Workshop

Our wildlife photographer Barbara Meyer offers a
Big Cat Photography
workshop at Colchester Zoo.

This half-day photography experience is a great opportunity to get good photos of the Big Cats at Colchester Zoo. The workshop participants will have access to one-to-one advice on any photographic aspects while taking photos of the Amur tigers, Amur leopards, lions and other wildlife species, we will pass on the way.

Professional wildlife photographer, Barbara Meyer will be available throughout the afternoon to offer advice on technical photographic aspects and to help participants with the settings on their camera. Based on Barbara's connection to wildlife conservation, our customers will also benefit from learning more about the big cats and how knowing the animals will help to get better images.

The Big Cat Photography workshops will start at 12:00 and will finish at 16:30. At Colchester Zoo we will work around the zoo's Big Cat talks, meaning we will start with the Amur tigers and work our way via the wolves and Amur leopards towards the lions. The tigers, leopards and lions will either be fed or get some enrichments at these times. This will offer great photo opportunities. Through this approach our customers will be able to utilise what they have learnt when coming back to Colchester Zoo
(or visiting any other zoo or wildlife park) on their own.

In order to make our courses most beneficial to all participants, we apply for the half-day Big Cat Photography workshop a maximum number of 8 people per event (minimum of 4 people).

The price for this photography experience is
  • £99 per person.
This includes a 40% contribution to wildlife conservation through Action For The Wild (Colchester Zoo's wildlife conservation charity).
